Caledonian College holds Graduation Ceremony - 2016

Caledonian College of Engineering (CCE) honoured 587 students (13 Masters, 475 Honours Degree and 99 Degree awards) at the college’s 22nd Graduation and Awards Ceremony held recently.

The Ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Rawya Saud Al Busaidi at CCE’s Al Hail campus, on the lawns outside the new centre of Research and Innovation, as part of the college’s 20th anniversary celebrations, says a press release.

CCE is affiliated with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) in the UK and has an academic collaboration with VIT University in India.

CCE also presented special awards for high achievement. These include the Caledonian Gold Medal for Academic Excellence, the Late Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Fannah Al Araimi Citizenship Award for outstanding contribution to the college and the student community, and the Caledonian Meritorious Award Postgraduate and Undergraduate for those excelling in each engineering discipline.

Dr. Ahmed Al- Balushi, dean, said, “Students need to have the basic subject knowledge and deep expertise in their specialization, however, we believe they also need development as individuals so that they can work effectively and operate in teams, across disciplines.”
